Lehigh River - Hickory Run Group Campground
Organized Group Tent Camping at Hickory Run State Park , , Albrightsville, PA, 18210

Event Type

Mega’s officially cancelled. Just ‘fish flows’ of 300 cfs to maintain river health due to drought. Though you can get down the river at 300 it’s hardly whitewater and not recommended.

Another fan favorite that almost always happens with  big fun waves near the height of fall foliage with relatively warm water.

lehigh hickory run campingWere camping at Hickory Run Group campsites and had a site reserved for Friday and Saturday already (so could easily add Thursday or Sunday). Sites are large and deep enough that tents can be pitched back in the woods so those who prefer to paddle well rested can get far enough from those who think being tired adds to the challenge.
If anyone wants to volunteer to coordinate shared food please contact us. Adult beverages are technically prohibited at the campsite. Discretion will be enforced. Insulated mugs keep beverages cool as well as warm. As for other recreational activities, if it’s not legal in the state of PA no one else should see (or smell) it.

All paddlers are expected to help with shuttle. The Lehigh has longer shuttles (and the mega can have mega long shuttles as we usually paddle at least the 20 miles of White to the Glen one day). Paddlers in the past have ‘accidentally’ arrived late or ‘suddenly’ needed to leave early.
Failure to help with shuttle, unless cleared with the coordinator beforehand, is grounds for not being allowed to join the trip and even not being allowed to participate in club trips in the future.
Shuttling may include a request that you leave your camping gear at the site so you have room in your vehicle.
Accommodations will be made if at all possible for carpoolers as we do want to be as environmentally friendly as possible.
