Our favorite camping for the Lehigh as sites are large and reasonably priced. Best sites are on the west side which is flatter and further from the road noise of the PA turnpike and closer to most of the porta potties.
Entrance is a not well marked dirt road which passes what looks like a maintenance area before getting to the campsites proper..
Showers and ‘real’ bathrooms at the main campground a really long walk or short drive away.
Most sites are large enough that those who prefer to retire early can get away from the campfire’s rowdiness, and those who don’t retire early won’t be woken early.
Adult beverages technically prohibited like most public campgrounds.
Pro-tip insulated mugs keep drinks cold as well as warm.
Sites also officially available to registered non-profits (like KCCNY). If you are thinking of booking, KCCNY will book sites using thru PA resident at a slightly lower cost and KCCNY will also put the money upfront for camping and handle camping reservaations so contact us.
We often post this location as it’s much harder to find and becomes the central meeting places then the well marked Lehigh put-ins of White Haven, Rockport and Glen Onoko.
A note on the Lehigh shuttling. Participating in the shuttle is part of the trip. With longer shuttles and most KCCNYers having a shorter drive home from one end or the other its tempting to shirk. Failure to help with the shuttle without permission from the coordinator is grounds for not being allowed to participate in the trip or even removal from KCCNY.
