Participants need to be able to read and run Class II+, and be competent in self recovery.
Currently, planning on primitive camping, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, at of the many New York Department of Environmental Conservation (NY DEC) sites on Route 8 just southwest of Baker’s Mills. GPS pin will be sent to registered participants.
Restaurants, convenience stores and gas stations are about 20 minutes from the area we would primitive camp. Please consider this in your planning.
For those primitive camping, we will work out breakfast and dinner plans for those interested. For primitive campers, please indicate any additional campers in the notes. If we have more than 10, we’ll just need to register through DEC.
**There are two state parks with more amenities, but more rules, close by. Camping in the state park would be at least $25 per person, and only two vehicles and two tents per site. There are also private campgrounds in the area and more luxurious accommodations.**
Rafting, tubing, zip-lining and other activities are available in the area if anyone wants to bring family members and friends.
