Event Type

1st annual mongaupfest and Sunday 2nd annual BBQ sponsored by Eagle Creek the dam/powerhouse operators. Be sure to thank them for all that they do.

Due to issues it will only be a 1 barrel so plans may change.

Tentative plan is to camp at Buckhorn Natural Area. These paddle in only campsites at staircase rapids are really nice but totally primitive…not even a bathroom. Only issue with them is road noise (says the guy who lives next to an interstate). These campsites are on the PA side along Staircase Rapids, one of our favorite beginner training areas, and run for 1/2 a mile or so, with swimming, some easy surfing and strong enough eddy lines.

We plan to bring raft(s) so to paddle the gear in and folks can paddle their kayaks in plus a folding toilet seat and pop up
