This is not a beginner trip. The Lower Yough is a solid class III river. You should be proficient on the Lehigh & Mongaup prior to attempting the Lower Yough. You will encounter large wave trains, holes and undercut rocks that must be negotiated to avoid injuries. Please take a look at the AW website to determine if you will be comfortable on this river. My plan is to arrive on Friday 6/2 at get a the very least an afternoon loop run. I am also open to the idea running the falls on Friday afternoon if there are 2 or more other people interested in doing that and the water level is below 1.9′. We will get a full run in on Saturday 6/3 and my plan is to get another full run in on Sunday. Those wishing to leave early on Sunday can run just the Loop section. I have reserved a group camping site at the outflow campground in confluence for Friday – Sunday nights so you can drive home on Monday to avoid a long trip on Sunday night. Launch permits are required on weekends but can no longer be reserved ahead of time and must be purchased ($10) at the launch office prior to putting on the river. Please book below if you plan on attending.
Camping is at a group walk in spot.
