Deerfield Demofest (II, IV)

This is a great event for everyone from fastwater on the lower Deerfield to the class 4 Dryway plus free demos and cheap Zoar Outdoor clinics and a 3-day release makes this a special weekend (though most folks just come for the weekend).

Camping at Savoy Group site is full for Friday but we do have space for Sat.

A few people aren’t staying all weekend so we may be able to sneak you in. Contact us for more info and note we’ll have limitted cell service/contact after Thursday afternoon.

Food will be a lux potluck Sat night with AMC and on your own/KCCNY coordination the rest of the time. Plan on contributing both time and food if your camping – we’re with AMC and they roll with a more formal (and generally better quality) food and drink. Some of the will go towards shared expenses like propane.
We have the site Thursday-Sunday. 
Limited # of vehicles at the campsite. Cars will probably need to be left near the ranger station about 500′ away as those spearheading the cooking have already claimed the spaces.

And though we plan to do several group paddles on Dryway (Class 4), Fife (2), hopefully, some laps thru Zoar Gap (3) and possible beginner runs even further downstream or surfing at Hurricane (aka Hangover) Hole, this will be a relatively loosely coordinated trip.
Many folks will be paddling with friends or on Zoar Outdoor clinics or with the AMC, though in general, we’ll organize at the campsite each night.

Cell service is bad at all paddling areas and the campsite.Plan your meetups and text if calls don’t go thru.
Demos get picked over quickly. On weekends if you want to try something plan on being at the Zoar picnic area when they open up (about 8.30 am). Yoga and food if you have to wait.

Waivers nor required for camping. AMC and/or KCCNY waivers will be required for paddling.
AMC paddlers paddling with KCCNY be prepared to sign a KCCNY waiver.
