Spend the weekend boating in the North Country. The Salmon river starts off mellow and finishes strong with a couple of back-to-back-to-back Class II+ rapids. There’s lots of opportunities to practice surfing, and some dynamic eddy lines that will test your edging and eddy catching skills. If there’s interest, there are places to practice rolling in moving water also.
Paddlers should be confident in wet exiting and self recovery for this trip.
The main run is only 4 miles long. The Upper Section of the Salmon can be added for a longer run, or the group can do two laps.
Camping will be for Friday and Saturday and will be coordinated through either Brown’s Campground or Stoney’s Pineville Campground, more information to follow soon.
