Event Type

We’re hopeful the release will actually happen thanks to work by American Whitewater. AMC and KCCNY members Loretta Brady and Myles Gordon.

The Esopus is about as hard as the Mongaup, prone to wood, beautiful mountain views. The optional last few miles of flatter water are quite isolated. Trip start, end and length TBD. We’ll meet at the school and load boats and then either leave cars at the school or move them further up the river.

“NYSDEC is unable to provide for the release requested for the weekend of August 31-September 2 due to conditions on the Esopus Creek between the Shandaken Tunnel and the Ashokan Reservoir.

My colleagues and I would like to set up a meeting with representatives of your group after this weekend to discuss. We will reach out soon to schedule a time for next month.

Sincerely,

Brenan Tarrier
