Event Type

This is really a 2-day event, with many folks camping or staying in the area, but enough folks do 1 day that we thought it easier to track as separate days, plus separate coordinators spread the load. If you are planning on paddling Sunday with us (especially if you aren’t camping) be sure to register for Sunday as well.

The Tohickon is the last (and first) northeast release of the year and the traditional end (and start) of the paddling season for many. A great step upriver with drops not normally found on a class 3 river, but the spring release’s cold water makes is less forgiving on swims (or multiple rolls). Generally a good river for someone who was already comfortable on class 2+ like the last rapid on the Mongaup at 2 barrels.

Most drops have some pretty straightforward lines as well as a few spots where things get exciting, so well guided which our trip should be it’s a good step up.

Fall Toh is relatively warm but still usually requires thicker neoprene at the least with most folks using drygear.

Camping at take-out if the Delaware isn’t flooding is usually $20 for the entire weekend in a typical paddlers scene, starting loud and dying down pretty quickly.
