The Tohickon is the first northeast release of the year and the traditional start of the paddling season for many. A great step up river with drops not normally found on a class 3 river, but the spring releases’ cold water makes is less forgiving then fall to swims or rolls. Generally a good river for someone who was already comfortable on class 2 like the Mongaup last year and spent some pool time improving their roll, but won’t be much fun if you’re stepping up further.
Drygear required. Did we mention how cold the water is?
No parking let alone camping at the normal take-out at the Delaware at River Country on river right. https://rivercountry.net/nockamixon-dam-release/.
