Great day to get everyone started on whitewater.
Ivan Schwartz will coordinate a Delaware River trip which is a great way for beginners to try their whitewater boats in moving water and for more recreational paddlers to join us on the water. (Flotation for both you and your boat required).
The sections of the Delaware around the Mongaup has lots of strong eddy lines and even some easy surf waves. Depending on levels and interest they may paddle Staircase Rapids above the Mongaup or the beautiful Hawks Nest below the Mongaup or even go above Pond Eddy and do a longer and more remote paddle.
If you’re bringing a guest along for the BBQ or can help with purchasing or set up or bring something special please note comments/questions.
KCCNY will cover the cost of the main course (burgers or the like). Please bring an appetizer, side, salad or dessert to share and your own beverages. If you can bring something more involved please contact the coordinator (and yes, KCCNY can help with $). BYOB.
If a guest is joining for just the bbq please add in notes.
Chris Dubetsky, in royal blue in the picture above, will be coordinating the standard mongaup run. Tom Hart will not even be attending but will be handling the sign in and admin from Vermont.
John Skeba will be doing a separate play-boating clinic for advanced play-boaters who did well in his pool play-boating skills or have playboating skills they’d like to sharpen. Please sign up or contact John thru this seperate event.
