Mongaup River

Event Type

Join us a  scheduled 1 barrel whitewater release on the Mongaup. It’s a great chance to surf some waves, catch some eddies.

Note that with continued issues with the Mongaup /Rio dam exact volume or even the release is subject to change.  Check the Mongaup Rio Ongoing Saga post for the latest updates.
There is some chance for extra water if turbine #3 which is up by the dam gets fixed as scheduled.

Even at 1 barrel Mongaup isn’t really a beginner’s run, requiring good boat control and a solid tuck and good wet exit at the very least.

With air and water getting colder you’ll need at least a medium weight wetsuit or dry top too.
