Scheduled releases that KCCNY members are likely to hit are over for the season.
If you are thinking of going please post a trip. Be sure to check before scheduling or driving.

Mongaup (Class 2+) has schedule releases 1 day every other weekend from April-October. KCCNY in liaison with other area clubs and American Whitewater is involved in the decision making for releases so contact the conservation committee if you’d like to be involved.
Dam operator Eagle Creek also publish their energy release schedule a day or 2 ahead of time.
Mongaup is closed due to eagle nesting Dec. 1st – April 1 (no fooling).
Not far from the Lehigh or Mongaup is the Class 1-2 Lackawaxen, a great first whitewater stream with avoidable features and launch access issues that has schedule releases Fridays in July and early August. Schedule should be posted on safewaters.com here.
Deerfield River in Massachusetts offers both the class 4 Dryway/Monroe Bridge section 2026 and the class 2 Fife Brook Section that ends in the Class 3 Zoar Gap.
We won’t bother with details on:
Hudson Gorge releases Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from earlier in the spring then we normally go (as it’s a long trip for cold water then) to the first weekend in October.
Tohickon Creek which releases the 3rd full weekend of March and the first full weekend of November water permitting (though usually isn’t made official until days or weeks ahead of time). KCCNY always has a trip if there’s a release and somewhere to park (as high water on the Delaware floods parking).
Esopus releases which so seldom happen (anyone know folks in state government? If so, contact us as DEC isn’t cooperating a pressure from their bosses is probably the only thing that will get Esopus releases back). KCCNY conservation committee is trying to bring these back.
Northeast releases (Maine, Mass, NH): Boston AMC maintains a good compilation of releases in their neck of the woods at amcbostonpaddlers.org/documents/river-releases/.

Maintaining a release calendar is complex.
We recommend you contribute to the American Whitewater release schedule
One of the features of the AW website (not mobile app at this point) is a dam release calendar that covers the entire USA. Go to: AW Main page, River info, bottom of page- Release Information- View Calendar. https://www.americanwhitewater.org/content/Release/view/
