Our classic step up river with several creeky drops not normally found on class 3 rivers. With a good guide someone solid on the Mongaup can have a great time. First weekend of Nov. and 3rd weekend of March releases are the classic bookends of the release season and many folks paddling seasons.

Nearest City and State  Point Pleasant, PA

Minimum Water Flow Level Boaters run it as low as 200 cfs, but the two annual releases in March and November generally generate about 800cfs.

Maximum Water Flow Level Above 2,500 cfs water starts to flow with force thru trees so strong rolls and class 4 skills are required. The river has been run above 10000 cfs by teams expert boaters.

Put-in is at Ralph Stover State Park, 6011 State Park Road, Pipersville, PA, 18947. Takeout is at Point Pleasant Community Park across the road from 7680 Tohickon Hill Rd. Pipersville, PA, 18947,  at Bucks County River Country during release weekends or downstream on the Delaware River. Alternative takes-outs are necessary during the crowded release weekends.

Evacuation Plan There are trails on river left on the first stretch of the river and on river right on the last third. The Ralph Stover State Park phone number is 610-982-5560. Cell service is spotty but calls can usually go thru by moving to slightly higher ground.
