Who’s up for two days on the Hudson Gorge?
Planning a trip to one of the best whitewater runs in the Northeast. The Hudson is a classic big-water Class III+ run with long wave trains, a few exciting rapids, and some of the best scenery you’ll find from a kayak. If you’ve never paddled through the Gorge before, the Adirondack views alone are worth the drive.
Goal is to run the river at or below 4 feet. At those levels, expect a fun day with plenty of wave trains and meaty pour-overs.
This trip is intended for paddlers with solid Class III+ skills, good boat control, and a reliable roll. You should be comfortable reading and running rapids, catching eddies, and handling yourself independently on the river. Hudson Gorge is remote!!!
Pack a lunch, bring your river stories, and be ready for a great day on the water.
There are various campgrounds nearby and paddlers can camp at the put-in as well.
