Let’s get out on the Fife Brook section of the Deerfield River for a fun day on the water!
This stretch is a local favorite — mellow enough for newer paddlers but with plenty of spots to work on skills. Along the way we’ll practice eddy turns, ferries, rolling, surfing, and other whitewater techniques, all in a supportive group setting.
What to bring:
Cold-weather paddling gear (drytop or wetsuit + warm layers)
Good river shoes (something sturdy that won’t slip off)
Usual whitewater essentials (boat, paddle, helmet, PFD, skirt, etc.)
Camping options nearby:
- Mohawk Trail State Forest
- Country Aire Campground
- Savoy Mountain State Forest
This will be a relaxed day on the river, with time to practice, play, and enjoy the water together. Perfect for sharpening your skills or just getting in some river miles.
