SUMMARY:Adirondack Class II/III Boating Weekend
DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a weekend of boating in the Adirondacks before the water 
 is gone! There are several Class II/III options in the Chestertown/Johnsbu
 rg NY area. This is just south of the Hudson Gorge Wilderness area. These 
 include: Sacandaga W. Branch (8 miles long)\, Hudson: Riparius to The Glen
  (7.5 miles long)\, Schroon River (~5 miles long)\, to name a few. All riv
 ers mentioned are fed by natural flow\, selection will be dependent upon w
 ater level.\n\nWe can plan a later start on Saturday for anyone making the
  drive Saturday morning.\n\nParticipants need to be able to read and run C
 lass II+\, have a dry suit (or thick neoprene with dry top) and appropriat
 e layers\, as the water is still extremely cold.\n\nCurrently\, planning o
 n primitive camping\, Friday &amp\; Saturday\, off of one of the many site
 s on Route 8 just southwest of Baker's Mills. GPS pin will be sent to regi
 stered participants.\n**If there is interest\, there are two state parks w
 ith more amenities\, but more rules\, close by. Camping in the state park 
 would be $25 per person\, and only two vehicles and two tents per site. Pl
 ease indicate interest in the state park option in the notes.**\n\nRestaur
 ants\, convenience stores and gas stations are about 20 minutes from the a
 rea we would primitive camp. Please consider this in your planning.
